Ever since I was a little girl, I loved writing down my thoughts. My very first memory was using a pink diary that I kept a little lock on. It was exciting to me to have something that was mine that I only had a key to open. I would use my diary to write down my thoughts or feelings. I would use my diary to document something that happened that day. It was a way for me to communicate and release things. I learned from an early age that writing had power. Writing down things had a way of release.
This was something I held - a discipline - a practice I hold dear to me, even to this day.
In recent years, during my walk with God- I began outing this into practice. I would write down things- daily, I went to God and laid out my thoughts.
What is a prayer box?
In a simple response- a box that holds prayers.
A prayer box is a tool used to communicate with God. It is a place to store prayers to release to God. It is a way to track the evidence of God’s power.
There have been many studies and documented studies on the benefits of writing your thoughts down. Some benefits include- releases stress, clarifies emotions, relieves anxiety, boots memory.
Because you're forced to put your emotions to writing, you can process your thoughts (whether positive or negative) and feelings at a much deeper level than simply thinking about it. It’s also a form of release or therapy whenever you’re feeling angry, depressed, or overwhelmed.
Once you write everything down, you’ll notice a sense of relief, as if a weight was lifted off your shoulders. Even if you haven’t done anything on your list just yet, there is a short period of transformation in which your brain goes from utter chaos to the first stages of organization.
